The fleet

Machinery no other
company in India
operates.

Every rig here is maintained, rebuilt and — in more than one case — built up from the bare chassis in our own workshop at Chandigarh. Machine shop, slot cutting, welding, fabrication: all of it in-house. These are the machines that bring the water in.

Heavy plant

The Dual Rotary and the deep rigs — the machines that decide what ground this company can take on.

Foremost DR-24 HD Dual Rotary rig in full side profile at the Chandigarh works

01 · The DR-24 HD.
The first Dual Rotary rig brought into India. Lower drive and casing table forward, top drive on the mast, 1,250 cfm compressor amidships — and the only machine in the country that drills and drives steel casing in the same pass.

The Foremost DR-24 HD and its support unit standing together on the yard apron at Chandigarh

02 · The whole train.
A rig is only half a crew's kit. Support unit, pipe carrier and compressor travel with the DR-24 to every site — mud pump, casing, tooling and spares, all of it moving as one unit.

03 · The people who run them.
The crew beside the Dual Rotary and the Sullair 1,150 cfm compressor at Chandigarh. The trade is still learned on the rig floor, passed from one hand to the next.

Gurnam Singh and Company reverse rotary rig in full side profile under a clear blue sky

04 · The deep reverse rotary.
Mast racked, drill floor aft, 700L box aboard. This is the family of machine that carries a thirty-inch bore to a full kilometre — designed and fabricated by our own engineers, in Punjab.

Long lattice-mast drilling rig racked for transit over a white cab at the Chandigarh yard

05 · The long-mast rig, racked and ready.
Full lattice mast down over the cab for the road, 700L box aboard, jacks stowed. Long mast, long pipe, long holes.

On the job

The rigs that make up the working week — in the yard, in the workshop and out on the ground.

Ashok Leyland 1920HG drilling rig with its mast raised at golden hour, hoses coupled, at the Chandigarh yard

06 · The flagship, plumbed in.
Ashok Leyland 1920HG at golden hour — mast up, hoses coupled, jacked down on packing, the reverse circulation system live and ready to bore.

Drilling rig with its mast raised beside the workshop at Industrial Area Phase-II, Chandigarh

07 · At full height.
Mast raised outside the workshop, drill pipe staged in the foreground — Industrial Area Phase-II, Chandigarh. Every machine goes up here before it goes out.

A Gurnam Singh and Company rig at work in a field, mast raised, crew at the drill table

08 · Where it actually happens.
Mast up in a standing crop, crew at the table, rods going down. Most of this fleet's life is spent exactly here — a field, a farmer, and a formation nobody has seen yet.

A completed bore in full discharge beside the rig, water running into a lined pond with the pipeline behind

09 · The only result that counts.
Development discharge running clear into the pond, rising main behind. Everything on this page exists to produce this one moment.

How these machines read and work the ground is on the Technology page.
